Very entertaining!

It was very entertaining!

I just want to know, if you used rotoscoping for the animation? It looks like rotoscoping, but if that's not true, then please take it as a complement! ;)

You really have some GREAT skills in animating anime, if it's not rotoscoping.

The lip-sync was terrific though. Thumps up to that! :)

Overall it was a good submission, but for next time: Choose a better compression for the music. I don't mind downloading 1MB more, to get better quality with no rattles.

IMPRESSIVE WORK!

Really impressive work!
First I thought it would be some nice and cozy animation, but then when those "spirits" took over that light-house, it just started to rock.
It took some seconds to getting used to the band, but after a 10 seconds or so, where your brain got "tuned in" on the rocking genre, you got the feeling that this animation really rocks.
The animation lagged a bit though, even on my Core2Duo computer. Next time, think on optimize the animation, so it can run more smoothly!
Overall: I rated a 4 out of 5! ;)

Hehehe, well first i was going to use a song like "Draw Me", but was too slow for Sonata, so i used the intro of "Draw Me Instrumental" with the song to contrast the video ^^

This review is really important, i fixed the Main LAG SCENES, but i need to wait that newgrounds update my file

I use a Core2Duo too, and when i tested the movie in my pc doenst lag, but if you do it in newgrounds lags a little :(

Great f-b-f animation, a bit too short though!

The headline says pretty much everything about the animation. Nice done, nice moves! The ending was a bit wierd. But besides that, great.

Song: So sweet voice! But I guess the voice has been manipulated by a computer, or what?

The only thing I worry about now, is where I can download the song, hehe. ;)

Yeah, time constraints really plaid a part. We had to keep it under 1 minute for the competition, so we had to cut out longer sections and speed up the audio dramatically. I probably would have prefered to leave it as was, but we're getting some pretty mixed reviews about the voice, it's either loved or hated. Interesting eh? :P

THANK YOU very much for some GREAT entertainment! I really had a great time watching this movie (that were cut out in four pieces).

Graphics: I gave you 9/10, because I think you've done a really great job. The frame-by-frame animation is smooth, and the anime style just looks... great! The females in the movie were REALLY cute drawn! You've talents here! (I have a question for this cathegory. I'll ask it later)

Style: 8/10. Great animationstyle, as I've written in the Graphics.

Sound: Could've used a little extra work in the two first episodes, and maybe the "crying" could've been acted a little better. But overall it was splendid! Especially one of the females. She sounds so cute. (I have a question for this cathegory. I ask it later). So 7/10.

Violence: Haha, yeah there were some violence. Therefore I give it 6/10.

Humor: I laughed some special places. The red fellow (forgot his name) was so humoristic sometimes.

So.. I have some questions for you, I'll hope you'll answer:

1. Was everything mousedrawn? Or did you use a tablet for the sketches? Or for the whole movie maybe?

2. I couldn't read the credits screen at the end. It was a mess, so I gotta ask you: Did you act all the voices yourself?

3. How long time did it take to animate?

4. I see you've written: "Job: Animator" in your profile. Does this mean, that you're actually an animator, and working for a company?

1. How long time did it take to animate this one?

2. Did you use nothing but Flash MX/8?

3. What is the framerate?

4. How the hell can you animate this so well? Do you use a tablet? Or other things? :)

1. Origionaly it took me 10 weeks to have the animation fully done, it was kinda a smummer holliday project. After wards it took me a long while to add some sound to it. recently I added the extra scenes so the work on this has kinda spanned a whole year really..

2. I first made it in flash mx 2004 then finished it in flash 8, for those blur effetcs.

3. the frame rate is 14, it allows it to run smoothe but require less work. It also allows the file size to be smaller.

4. I got good at animation by practising and being dedicated to getting better. Also im currently studying animation at university level.

I simply don't belive that this one has been made in Flash ALONE. You must have used some photoshop too, right?

As you can read, I'm very impressed! Thumps up, and I'm looking forward to the final movie!

Hi there, thanks for your comments! In regards to your question, the characters are entierly drawn and animated in flash. The backgrounds in the trailer are temporary, mostly made from chopped up images im using for the Eternal descent website, while the real comicbook style backdrops are still being drawn! But other than the backdrops, its drawn in flash. Thanks for watching!
